Work Opportunity Tax Credit

Did you know that you could get a tax credit from the federal government just for hiring talented and motivated people to work in your business?

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) was created to do just that – providing businesses with a valuable tax credit just by hiring people from certain targeted groups who have faced barriers to employment. Originally created as a temporary tax credit by Congress and signed into law by President Clinton in 1996, the WOTC has been extended at least once by each President since then.

Hire employees from one of 10 targeted groups, and your business could get a tax credit of up to 40% of the first $6,000 you pay them in their first year of employment. Each targeted group has different requirements and credit maximums. Some have max credits up to $9,600 per employee!

The 10 targeted groups include veterans, food stamp recipients, welfare recipients, ex-felons, disability recipients, and those in ticket to work rehabilitation programs. Talented, motivated people are ready and waiting to work for you. Use the credits they generate to expand your business and hire more people, and in the process, improve your business, the community, and people’s lives!

EmployerIncentives has a dedicated staff that will help you handle the considerable amount of paperwork and tracking necessary to obtain these valuable credits. We value the hands-on approach, and believe it gives each WOTC application we receive the best chance of qualification.
